Welcome to the opening of Matti Kalkamo’s exhibition on Thursday Mar 29th from 5 to 7 pm!

Sculptor Matti Kalkamo (b. 1968) wants to sculpt three-dimensional thoughts about being human. His thoughts vary from mischievous to serious and challenge the viewer’s imagination and sense of humour – perhaps worldview, too.

In his new exhibition, Kalkamo operates in a wide area from history of ideologies to dance macabre and mundane violence. When it comes to Matti Kalkamo’s art, the viewer is put face to face with painful human experiences that materialize in bronze and aluminium. According to Kalkamo, instead of being easy, art should need time or even be hard to digest.
