Anna Anundi’s work Abbracciati (Embrace yourself) has a hint of gentleness. It’s caring. It makes a suggestion on a future reality and reminds us of its different levels, the reflections. It is curious and full of questions. It admits its mistake and apologises. It sheds its skin and is given a second chance. It recognises sensitivity and forgets cynicism. It obscures boundaries and makes connections with satin ribbons. Layers of pain and great tears are released in its embrace as one dares to say goodbye.
Anna Anundi (b. 1990, they/them, Academy of Fine Arts 2021-) works mainly with painting and performance. In their exploration the milky relationships of experientality and sensation wave, foam and burst into tears. In the wandering essence of stream Anundi dreams of reorganizing hierarchical and destructive practices and structures. They see vulnerability, compassion and non-violent love as a rebellious force for change.

You can’t get what you want but you can get me
installation by Samira Elagoz & Z Walsh
So I have this album saved on Instagram called “boys I wanna be” and there’s quite some amount of blonde soft rock/glam rock boys, and then dark long-haired goth metal raven boys. Which is basically us.
I’m a few cm away from the screen and want to kiss you. You know we’re not meant to exist in the outside world anyway. I want to crawl inside you, I want to pet your heart.
We’re not like other boys. Former pretty girl syndrome. 6 months ago as I was leaving New York you whispered don’t forget me. Instead of sending cat pics and saying that’s us, we promised to send boy band pics instead.
Fanboyism is the seventh love language and somehow of all the things I am right now being your fan is my favorite.
I found you beautiful, i found you exploding, i found you
Cancelled and in love.
male bonding, you make me so wet i feel dehydrated
dude, but like romantically, I’m unimpressed by everyone but you
Oh one thing, don’t ever think that I’ll forget you because I’ve been waiting a guy like you for so long.
Text: Samira Elagoz & Z Walsh
Samira Elagoz (b. 1989, he/him) is a Finnish/Egyptian artist and filmmaker currently based in Berlin. He has toured in various international film, visual art, and performance contexts, and won several awards for his works, the latest being the Silver Lion at Venice Biennale Teatro in 2022. Elagoz has dedicated his career to the discourse on gender, sexual violence and its aftermath, the male gaze, digital romanticism, and intimate encounters. Educated in performative arts, he incorporates aspects of this medium with video and film, creating his own unique brand of “docu-fiction”. The most indicative parts of his filming are that he doesn’t use performers and all subjects in his works are men. Elagoz always puts himself inside his films as a vérité-esque observer who is also being observed. He has been a comrade, a lover, a confidant, and a sidekick.
Z Walsh is a Brooklyn-based transgender artist focusing on photography with expertise in portraiture. Z is renowned amongst New York, and Los Angeles’ creative communities for his raw, full-hearted depictions of his subjects and himself. Between producing, creative directing, shooting and modeling, Z is a voice of his generation but his passion lies in elevating trans voices and opposing trans masc erasure.
