TEOS 2026 Art Sales Event in May
The most diverse contemporary art sales event of the year brings photographic art, sculptures, and prints to Cable Factory (Kaapelitehdas) from 8 to 17 May. Admission is free, and the event is open daily from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. The works will also be available for purchase online from 8–30 May 2026.
Art purchases help protect Finnish forests
This year, the artists’ associations organising the TEOS event are supporting the work of the Finnish Natural Heritage Foundation, and a portion of the event’s sales proceeds will be used for the permanent protection of Finnish forests. For works bearing the ‘Art Forest’ label, the artist donates a portion of the sales proceeds to the Finnish Natural Heritage Foundation, and the artist’s association matches the donated amount. In addition, artists donate works to the exhibition, with all proceeds from their sales directed toward purchasing Taiteen Metsä.
With the funds raised, the Finnish Natural Heritage Foundation will acquire a forest area that will be permanently protected. The Art Forest campaign is a continuation of the Finnish Natural Heritage Foundation’s successful art auctions, which have already raised over 200,000 euros for nature conservation.
The TEOS event, aimed at the general public, has been part of Helsinki’s cultural offerings for over 20 years. The event is organised by the Finnish Sculptors’ Association, the Finnish Printmakers’ Association, and the Association of Photographic Artists. These are national, not-for-profit associations whose mission is to support the work of professional artists living in Finland in various ways. All three artist organizations also have their own online art stores where works can be purchased year-round.
Art shapes the way a space feels – Kiilto and renowned design brands partner with the event
Kiilto is the corporate partner for the 2026 TEOS event. For this Finnish family-owned company, it is important to contribute to the well-being of the local community and society through art as well.
‘By supporting the TEOS event, we want to help reinforce the significance of art and create conditions for artists to work in an open, accessible environment. TEOS offers Kiilto a natural partnership where support is directed directly toward local art, artists, and shared encounters,’ says Eeva Solja-Wulff, Vice Chair of Kiilto’s Board of Directors.
The 2026 TEOS event will also highlight the role of art as part of interior design. This theme is echoed by the event’s other partners, two esteemed Finnish design companies, Durat and Vaarnii.
“Architecture and interior design create the framework, but design and art give the space meaning and identity. Both shape how the space feels—not just how it looks,” says Antti Hirvonen, CEO of Vaarnii.
Visitors will have the opportunity to explore both Durat’s and Vaarnii’s products on-site at the Merikaapelihalli during the TEOS event.
“It comes naturally to us to be part of an event that highlights local expertise and craftsmanship. For our part, we aim to offer visitors the chance to see how Finnish art and Finnish design complement each other. The event is an excellent place to create new connections: between artists, designers, interior designers, and customers. It’s an ecosystem that we naturally belong to,” says Hirvonen.
